“We Get a Little Selfish”- Dale Earnhardt Jr Reveals Relationship Struggles With Wife Amy
Therapy is not a sign of weakness. Instead, offloading one’s emotional burdens is equally important as the collective pursuit of individual progression. After all, success doesn’t mean a whole lot if the person receiving it fails to cherish it with their peers in the correct mindset.
Speaking of success, Dale Jr’s rollercoaster racing career & media mogul-esque moves for Dirty Mo Media Network certainly emphasize now-justified claims of garnering generational progress for the Earnhardts. From blossoming into a downright racing legend, growing up as the young son of the Intimidator to starting a family of his own, with his wife Amy, Junior has lived all the high-speed excitements & tragedies brought about by the world of NASCAR racing.
But even the best can get it wrong sometimes. And our favorite racing legend has opened up on a ‘therapeutic’ crutch he leans on, helping him balance out the negatives of an unpredictable life that can get a little too hectic sometimes.
On New Year’s Eve, 2016, Amy Reimann and Dale Earnhardt Jr tied the knot in holy matrimony, putting into motion the next chapter in the lives of the fabled Earnhardt family. Amy’s positive presence has helped her husband out in many different ways. Her ‘deal-breaking ultimatum‘ forced Junior to kick out a 15-year-long smoking habit, while helping reinforce healthier social media habits for a wholesome couple battling the tides of rapid digitalization.
But like every other union worldwide, the famous Earnhardts face their respective problems warranting the utmost privacy. Yet, Junior honorably lets fans know that even influential personalities like him and his wife resort to professional intervention when times get rough.
Answering a recent question to interviewer, Darren Reilly, Dale Jr explained, “Well, I believe in therapy. I’ve accessed therapy at certain times in my life for various reasons, you know, certain moments in my life. There was some good successes through those processes. If you find the right person to have the right conversation with, that’s what it is about for me… Me and my wife always talk about ‘going back and getting a tune-up,’ you know. And it’s because we get off the rails a little bit and we get a little selfish….”
His message to fans struggling with their own burdens behind closed doors? “Don’t hesitate to speak to someone. If you feel like you can’t talk to somebody, there’s somebody out there that you can find. That right person that can help you understand how to navigate these challenges in life. Because it is not fun going alone.”
